The Board of Education of School District 59 approved the 2018-19 School Calendar at the March board meeting. 

SD59 Policies for review

The Board of Education of SD59 is circulating the following policies for review.  Feedback may be made in writing to Candace Clouthier at before May 11, 2018. 


Students from the Peace Region will be competing at Skills Canada Provincial Competition

Thirty students from the Peace Region are preparing to compete at the Provincial Skills Canada Competition in Abbotsford, BC on April 18, 2018. The students qualified for the competition at the Regional Skills Canada Competition on February 16, 2018 where over 270 students competed for the chance to represent the Peace Region at the provincial competition.

Do you have a child entering Kindergarten in September 2018?

Kindergarten in SD 59 - Caring, Sharing and Working Together!


Elementary schools in School District 59 are now taking kindergarten registrations for the 2018-2019 school year. 

Schools in the Dawson Creek and Chetwynd areas have catchment areas created for new students registering in schools.  Please review the school area catchment maps on the school district website under the "Family" tab.

 When registering for kindergarten please bring along your child’s birth certificate, care card and a proof of address. 

Rural families requiring bus service must register for the service by contacting the Transportation Department at 250-782-2106.

Getting a Strong Start in SD59

StrongStart is a program helping children grow and learn from their most influential teacher, their parents; preparing them for kindergarten and the rest of their lives.  The DCSS South Peace Campus Video Production 12 class toured some of the centres in SD59 to check out how the learning happens!
