Rik Leaf and MJ Dandenaeau Make Music Video at EFR

Rik Leaf is returned to Ecole Frank Ross and worked with our French Immersion students the week of Dec. 2-6. For over 25 years, Rik has led Creative Development Mentorship Projects in schools and Indigenous communities across Canada, where he engages every student and teacher in writing, performing, and recording an original song celebrating community creativity. Rik is returning with his partner MJ Dandeneau this time. Marie-Josée is Métis of French and Anishinaabe descent from the Red River Nation. Her mother comes from the Red River Valley (Ile de la Cross Nation) and her father comes from Penetanguishene, Treaty 61. She is an internationally renowned bassist, director and producer who has toured with Buffy Saint Marie, Xavier Rudd, Ben Harper and a ton of artists. She's a powerful role model for French and Indigenous students.

Thanks to the support of Canadian Parents for French (CPF) for making this opportunity possible; our students will get to showcase their creativity, celebrate their French learning and who they are as part of our community.
