Pouce Coupe Elementary School is located on Treaty 8 Territory ten minutes from Dawson Creek, B.C., in the village of Pouce Coupe. Our Kindergarten to Grade Seven school has seven classes serving 143 students. The schools teaching staff includes primary and intermediate teachers, a teaching principal, a librarian, a Coach Mentor, a Learning Assistance teacher, and a Literacy Resource teacher. Educational Assistants work with the classroom teachers to provide support to our students. Students at Pouce Coupe Elementary have access to the services from the Learning Services department in School District #59.
Surrounded by community baseball diamonds and an outdoor skating rink, our school building is home to the Pouce Coupe Community Center and the Pouce Coupe Public Library. The family-like atmosphere at Pouce Coupe Elementary is supported by our active Parent Advisory Council. Families show their support by attending school activities including; sports teams, school events and extracurricular activities. Students enjoy a variety of field trips and learning experiences. Pouce Coupe Elementary is proud to be a member of Breakfast Club of Canada. Our teachers volunteer and serve breakfast to our students from 8:00 a.m. to 8:20 a.m. everyday. Our school has consistently increased in population over the past few years and is part of a vibrant community. With our growing population, we are excited to see what the future will bring!
