Substance Use Prevention - A guide for parents

Join leading adolescent Clinical Psychologist Dr. Hayley Watson for an online event that aims to help parents, guardians and caregivers gain a deeper understanding of substance use prevention and learn practical tools for supporting youth mental health. Dr. Watson will focus on skills and strategies that will help you equip your child and youth with the tools they need to prevent substance use and mental health needs.

The focus will be on prevention rather than intervention/response, and this presentation applies to parents, guardians and caregivers of all age groups (youth aged 0-5, 6-10, and 11-18).  As part of the presentation, you will also learn ways that these skills can be applied to yourself and the rest of your family to support the mental health of parents, guardians, and caregivers.

This presentation will build on the previous presentation in 2024 (Substance Use Prevention: A Guide for Parents), which focused on practical conversation tools for speaking about substance use prevention with your children.
