Revised Trustee Electoral Area

The Minister of Education has approved a proposal submitted by The Board of Education of School District No.59 to amalgamate the rural areas surrounding Dawson Creek into one large electoral area.  The Board put forward the proposal to combine the two areas to evenly distribute the trustee responsibilities among the schools located in the rural areas.

The new area will be named Trustee Electoral Area IV - Rural Areas Surrounding Dawson Creek  and will be described as: (Contiguous rural areas surrounding Electoral Area III (City of Dawson Creek) including the Village of Pouce Coupe and contiguous rural areas within the district boundaries from BC/Alberta border to boundary lines of Electoral Area II (Tumbler Ridge) and Electoral Area I (District of Chetwynd and contiguous rural areas)).

Two trustees will be elected to represent this area in the 2018 General School Trustee Election to be held in October.

A map showing all the electoral areas of the district is attached.
